About Jackanory Training

Jackanory are early years trainers with a passion for ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieves the very best that they can. We know that the increasingly poor communications skills of many children entering settings are providing a challenge for practitioners who, in turn, understand that without those most basic of language skills children cannot develop personal and social skills, make friends, or learn.

Jackanory's main training focus is to assist practitioners in supporting children with communication difficulties and to ensure they make as much progress in this area as they are able. To this end Jackanory’s trainers are licensed by ICAN (the communications charity) to deliver the ICAN Speech and Language training.

We also offer a further range of training courses and workshops to assist practitioners to meet these children's needs.

Jackanory Early Years Training is made up of committed early years practitioners with many years of experience of working and leading within early years settings and schools. All of our trainers have a Masters Degree in Early Years, have Early Years Professional Status and have worked as assessors for Early Years Professional Status and Early Years Teacher.

Our team has a wide range of experience.  All of our trainers have all worked as local authority early years advisers and have 10+ years experience of writing  and delivering high quality, meaningful training to settings, childminders and schools, as well as advising on the quality of the provision in settings across the East Midlands.

Jackanory has trainers and advisers who have been instrumental in setting up major ground breaking projects (such as the Northamptonshire Inclusion and Mentoring Partnership) - which is still operating independently and very successfully supporting SENCos across the county).

We are an approachable, friendly and professional bunch of people who can provide the training and advice needed/required to assist settings to develop their provision, ensuring they can provide stimulating and fun environments where all  children  are secure and love to learn, whatever their needs.
